Concentration Grid is a web/mobile device app implementation of the mental skills exercise that many winning coaches and sports performance/psychology professionals have used with athletes/others (typically with pen/paper and stopwatch) to develop/improve and practice focus and concentration.
The Concentration Grid app is now available for Apple/iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod) and Android devices. Concentration Grid is also available for free gameplay on the web at www.tryconcentrationgrid.com (app download is 99 cents at Apple and Google Play/Amazon.com app stores).
Concentration Grid provides convenient gameplay/replay and records time/performance data and history (the app also integrates sharing of results on social media). Concentration grids (sometimes called mental focus grids) can be generated in multiple sizes ranging from 3 to 14 columns/rows.
The objective of Concentration Grid is to select in sequence each of the numbers in the (randomly generated) grid. Performance is timed as the athlete/individual completes the exercise. The level of competitive challenge/fun can be varied by changing the size of the grid – by selecting the number of rows and columns. Smaller grids challenge dexterity and quickness; larger grids require sustained focus and attention to complete. Try various grid sizes with your athletes – test speed/dexterity with a small grid (such as a 4×4 grid) or challenge attention/focus with a bigger grid (such as a 9×9 grid).
Concentration Grid has many uses for coaches/teachers and education/sports performance professionals: student/athlete/patient assessment/evaluation and benchmarking, mental skills exercise/conditioning for athletes/others, individual/athlete challenge/development, team exercise in training/practice segments, individual or intra-squad/team building competition, etc. (The mental focus grid exercise is particularly popular with baseball and softball coaches.)
Concentration Grid can be used in many different training/conditioning environments – in quiet spaces (office, home, classroom, lab), in the training room/gym or on the field during workouts/practices, in challenging/distracting conditions (modeling game day with noise, etc.), on road trips, etc.
Concentration Grid provides competitive challenge and fun for students, athletes, coaches, trainers, teachers, parents – for anyone, young and old.
Challenge your athletes … challenge your students … challenge your teams … challenge yourself.

Great stuff! Was made aware of it from a Nate Trosky retweet.
This morning I’ve been attempting to obtain the App. I have purchased it but am not seeing it available on my iPhone. I have purchased it 3 times I think now. Is there anything happening on your end that is causing this?
Good morning. Thank you for the note. I just checked/tried and the app was in the Apple app storefront and able to load on a device. I know that Apple has a recent operating system update. But the Concentration Grid app works with the iOS update. I don’t know of any problems. When I can’t find an app it is sometimes that the icon for a new app is put in an empty spot on a random page of the home screen rather than on the last page. The Apple app store should only allow one purchase per account/device – and only bill once. Kind regards.
